Dr. Surinder Birring MD, MRCP- Dr. Birring is a Respiratory Consultant at Kings College Hospital in London. Dr. Birring provides specialist clinics, research and clinical trials for the following conditions: cough, interstitial lung disease (lung fibrosis) and sarcoidosis. Dr. Birring is also the inventor of the Leicester Cough Monitor.
Dr. Kevin Gruffyd-Jones, MA, BM, BCh, MRCGP - Dr. Gruffyd-Jones is a GP at The Box Surgery in Corsham, Respiratory Lead at the Royal College of General Practitioners, and Clinical Policy Lead at the Primary Care Respiratory Society UK. Special interests include research, respiratory medicine, sports medicine and migraine. Dr. Gruffyd-Jones graduated from Oxford.
Prof. Alyn Morice, MD - Professor Morice graduated from Cambridge University and afterwards, he undertook research (MD) into the pharmacology of asthma at St. Mary’s Hospital. As Clinical Lecturer at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Professor Morice developed his interest in cough, demonstrating cough hypersensitivity caused by ACE inhibitors. In 1989 he was appointed as Senior Lecturer in Sheffield developing a Pulmonary Vascular service and the first UK Cough Clinic. In 1998 he was appointed to the Foundation Chair in Respiratory Medicine in Hull University (now part of Hull York Medical School). He has led the European Respiratory Society and British Thoracic Society Taskforces on Cough.
Prof. Mike Thomas, FRCP, PhD – Professor Thomas is the Chief Medical Officer of Asthma UK, Research Chairman of International Primary Care Respiratory Group, and a member of many advisory groups related to respiratory disease. Professor Thomas was formerly a GP in Gloucestershire and currently the Professor of Primary Care research at the University of Southampton.
